2004 In 2005 an opportunity to collaborate with my wife arose and we seized the moment. This display of Ikenobo Ikebana was set up along with several others in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's tea room. The container is stoneware and the plant materials are Japanese Iris and Horsetail. We wish the photographic quality was better but we were lucky to bring the camera in all the confusion and high energy of the moment. |

On another occasion it was fall season and a fine maple branch was included but its time was short and it did not last so the tree material was changed as you can see in the next photograph.

The tea room at the MET was redone to include a more contemporary feeling. When I designed this container I hadn't been aware of those changes and yet the white and black work well with the artwork..
